Ms. Siena Whiteside, Aerospace Engineer at NASA Langley Research Center will be presenting the Research Aircraft for eVTOL Enabling techNologies (RAVEN) program on Thursday, August 13th at Angelo’s Steak & Pancake House in Newport News.
Further details below:
Topic: An overview of the Research Aircraft for eVTOL Enabling techNologies (RAVEN) program
Background: RAVEN is a NASA/Georgia Tech collaboration to design, build, and fly a 1000 lb.-class unmanned research aircraft for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). RAVEN will enable researchers and industry partners to obtain and publish flight test data at a relevant scale, provide a platform to develop practical methods for AAM vehicle design and operation, and train the next generation of aerospace engineers. Near-term research focuses primarily on acoustics, flight controls, and flight dynamics. RAVEN is designed to support a vast array of future studies such as autonomous operations, aerodynamics, contingency management, propulsion, novel materials, and vehicle health management.
